EDUCATION
- MFA in Graphic Design with a concentration in New Media/Interactive Design, Indiana University - Bloomington
- BA - Double-Major in Graphic Design and History of Art, Indiana University - Bloomington
After graduating (the first time) with my BA in graphic design, I worked for a short period at the Center for Innovation in Assesment (CIA) as their lead designer. Because it is part of Indiana University, I decided to start taking classes in Information Science and work towards an MIS degree in the School of Library and Information Science (SLIS) with a concentration in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), User Interface design (UI), and Information Architecture. I didn't finish this degree because I decided to pursue a Masters in Fine Arts in Design, taking what I learned in SLIS and applying it to my studies as well as to my design students.
Since starting at the Center in late October 2010, I've found that I certainly have my work cut out for me and my assistant. There's a lot to do yet, and we're looking forward to taking what we know, what we've learned, and what we learn everyday and running with it and the Center into the future!

Projects
As the senior designer at the CNS and co-curator of the
Places & Spaces exhibit, I work on a lot of different projects that span many different disciplines. I'm interested in combining visual design principles to data sets that pertain to science and creating useful visualizations that are easily understood as well as aesthetically pleasing. I'm very interested in collaboration! If you'd like to work with me, contact me here:

Technical Expertise
I have many talents and apply my knowledge and technical expertise to all sorts of projects. I'm the lead designer, copy writer, video producer, coordinator, etc. If something needs done, I will do it or learn how to do it.
Hobbies, Interests & Awards
I have many interests and hobbies, but a few of my favorite things (outside of working at CNS) are learning and trying new things, information science, information visualizations, road cycling, photography, traveling,
Indochine, cooking, hiking, reading, and working on things that don't involve looking at glowing screens.
While working in the world of advertising I've been part of creative and design teams that have won
ADDYS from the American Advertising Federation and several other awards. While I was an undergrad I was the recipient of the Wolf Scholarship award for outstanding students studying design.
